Kevin Harvick wins NASCAR Sprint Cup championship

HOMESTEAD, Fla. — Kevin Harvick won his first championship in NASCAR’s premier series with his fifth victory of the season, according to USA Today.

“That came down to a pit call, and thought oh man, we’re in big trouble here,” Harvick said. “(Crew chief) Rodney Childers and all these guys have just done an amazing job.”

Harvick had to win last week at Phoenix just to advance into the Sunday’s final four.
