App State student from Kernersville found dead on campus

BOONE, N.C. — Appalachian State University Police responded to an unattended death on campus Thursday morning.

The report of the death came in at 8:45 a.m.

Jeremy A. Sprinkle, 18, of Kernersville, was found dead in the Lovill residence hall.

“The incident does not appear to be suspicious in nature and no foul play is suspected,” ASU police said, according to High Country Press. “This situation presents no threat to the university community.”

The university is offering counseling to friends and others on campus affected by Sprinkle’s death.
