Intoxicated Lexington man arrested after found ‘staggering in the roadway’
LEXINGTON, N.C. — A man is in custody after deputies observed him “staggering in the roadway” on N.C. 150 near Becky Hill Road on Saturday.
Todd Mitchell Smith, 21, of 180 Byerly Road, Lexington, is charged with being intoxicated and disruptive and resisting a public officer.
When deputies observed Smith in the roadway they attempted to speak with him.
According to the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office, Smith ran from the deputies.
Smith was apprehended after a short foot chase and was taken into custody without incident.
Smith was placed under a $5,000 bond.
