A Cleaner World again offered an opportunity for area elementary and middle schools to be involved in the Give A Kid A Coat campaign through a four-week coat drive which encouraged parents and students to drop off coats at A Cleaner World stores.

The School Challenges concluded on Nov. 8 with Williamsburg Elementary School in Reidsville taking first place and Cornerstone Charter Academy in Greensboro close behind in second place in the elementary division.

Ledford Middle School in Thomasville finished in first place and Northeast Guilford Middle School in Greensboro captured second place in the middle school division.  Each school will receive a donation to their parent-teacher organization.

“Twenty-nine elementary and eight middle schools donated 1,521 coats through this special coat drive, just short of last year’s total by 118 coats,” said Chris Edwards, President of A Cleaner World.  “Thanks to all the students and parents who participated in this challenge.  Because of your efforts, many more children in the Triad will have a warm coat this winter.”

Give A Kid A Coat is sponsored by A Cleaner World dry cleaners, The Salvation Army, FOX8 WGHP, 1075KZL and Southside Bargain Center.  The 2014 campaign concludes on Nov. 15.  For additional information, please call Dianne Berberich at (336) 841-4188.
