ATLANTA — A dog that went missing from his home in Denver over seven years ago is back home with his owner after he was picked up as a stray 1,400 miles away in Atlanta.

Mike Nuanes returned home seven years ago to find ‘Jordan’ was gone. He suspected a dognapping, but no one knew what happened.

Fast-forward seven years to the day when Nuanes received a call from the Fulton County Animal Shelter in Atlanta.

The shelter had scanned the dog and discovered a microchip which contained the owner’s contact information.

“He was in pretty bad shape,” shelter worker Jill Davis told KUSA.

Nuanes flew to Atlanta and claimed the Shih Tsu. Their reunion was captured on video by a shelter worker.
