Man shot, robbed in Winston-Salem

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — Police responded to a report of a person suffering from a gunshot wound Thursday evening.

Officers responded to the 120 block of East Drive and found Keith Donnell Gaither, 59, suffering from a gunshot wound around 7:45 p.m.

Police determined that a suspect approached Gaither and began attempting to steal his moped. Gaither attempted to stop the suspect and the suspect pulled out a handgun and shot him.

The suspect then fled the area on the stolen moped and has not been located.

Gaither was transported to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.
