UNION, S.C. — Union County deputies said they arrested a volunteer firefighter with Lockhart Fire Department, who is accused of setting a suspicious fire.

On Oct. 6, a fire was reported at 117 Red Road, but after Lockhart firefighters learned the building did not have a power source where the fire was located, according to deputies.

An arson investigator and K-9 sifted through the remains of the fire and sent off results for analysis, deputies said. The next day, deputies said Danny Vinson, 42, was asked to submit a polygraph but failed.

Vinson was later arrested and charged with third-degree arson. Warrants state Vinson willfully set the building belonging to someone else on fire.
