Man charged for making false bomb threat in Winston-Salem

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — A man has been charged after police say he made a false bomb threat Tuesday evening which led to the evacuation of the Winston-Salem Rescue Mission.

Police responded to the bomb threat report around 6:42 p.m. at the mission on North Trade Street.

Rescue Mission employees partially evacuated the facility and the surrounding streets were blocked while the incident was investigated.

No suspicious items were located and all occupants were allowed back into the building.

Dwight Salter was identified as the suspect and a warrant for arrest has been issued for making a false report concerning a destructive device.
