GARY, Ind. — Police in Northwest Indiana today are investigating a possible serial killer, sources told WGN.

Law enforcement sources said a man in his 40s was arrested for the murder of a woman at the Motel 6 in Hammond on Friday.

The man, arrested at his home in nearby Gary, then began to confess to multiple murders and told police where to find the bodies of another three women dumped inside three abandoned homes in Gary.

One by one, throughout Saturday night into early Sunday morning, the bodies were recovered in Gary.

Autopsies are being conducted.

Sources say even more bodies could be recovered in the coming days, as the suspect talks to investigators.
