Police investigating a home invasion in Burlington

BURLINGTON, N.C. — Police are looking for a suspect in a Friday night home invasion.

Police were called to the 600 block of North Avenue at about 9 p.m. for a report of a home invasion, authorities said. The victim told police the man kicked in the back door of her home, pulled out a handgun and demanded money.

The man took an undisclosed amount of cash and ran off.

The woman was was not injured.

Police said the suspect is a light-skinned black man with light brown eyes and a thin build, wearing a red-hooded sweatshirt. He is believed to be in his late 20s and stands about 6 feet tall, police said.
