GREENSBORO, N.C. — A student took a BB gun to school on Thursday, Guilford County Schools officials said.

No one was injured and it is not clear if there was a threat.

The incident happened at Kiser Middle School at 716 Benjamin Pkwy. Students who saw the gun told school administrators, who then notified the school resource officer.

The officer stopped and interviewed the student with the weapon. The student removed the gun from a book bag.

“The system worked,” spokeswoman Susan Danielsen said.

Officials said they confiscated the weapon. Police charged the student with misdemeanor possession of a weapon on campus and referred the student to Guilford County Teen Court.
