MONTGOMERY, Ala. — A church in Alabama is at the center of a sex scandal after a preacher admitted to having AIDS and sleeping with parishioners without telling them.

WFSA.com reported that Juan Demetrius McFarland actually admitted to his worshipers at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church last month that he contracted HIV in 2003. In 2008, he had AIDS.

Then, McFarland started revealing more during future Sunday services.

He eventually admitted to drug use, mishandling church funds — and knowingly sleeping with female church members and not telling them about his medical status.

Church leaders have obtained legal counsel.
