LEXINGTON, S.C. — The South Carolina father accused of killing his five children reportedly threatened to snap his then-wife’s neck and shoot the neighbors, according to a 2012 incident report released Thursday.
According to WIS, Amber Jones went to the sheriff’s department to report threats Tim Jones Jr. made toward her in May 2012. Amber told deputies Tim recently threatened to snap her neck while they were in an argument.
Jones, Jr. was arrested during a traffic stop in Mississippi last month, where investigators said he eventually led them to the bodies of the children.
The report states Amber decided to report the threats due to recent domestic violence situations happening throughout the county and “felt it would be in her best interest to document it.”
“Amber advised at one time while the children were in the car he began arguing with her and then stated “let’s play chicken” while driving the car directly in front of an 18 wheeler, only missing the truck by inches,” the incident report states.
Amber also told deputies Tim also had thrown a hair brush at her and said “If you don’t get out of the house now, I will snap your neck right now.”
Tim will appear in court on Nov. 14.
