Moped driver seriously injured after crash with truck in High Point

HIGH POINT, N.C. — A moped driver was seriously injured after crashed with a truck in High Point Friday morning.

The accident happened around 7 a.m. at Kivett Drive near the Business 85 overpass.

Troopers say the moped, being driven by 55-year-old Jorge Torres was heading west on Kivett and the truck driver was traveling east when he made an illegal left turn in front of the moped.

The driver of the truck, 28-year-old Zachary Armstrong of High Point, was cited for make an illegal left turn.

Torres was transported to Baptist Medical Center with serious injuries, troopers say.
