Jermaine Johnson, 35, of Raleigh

RALEIGH, N.C. — A 35-year-old North Carolina man is accused of telling a 14-year-old girl she was pretty and then following her several blocks and on to a school bus.

WTVD reported that Jermaine Johnson is accused of following the girl for several blocks before he followed her on to her school bus.

“As soon as she got on the school bus she called her dad,” said the victim’s mother. “They took a lot of the bus stops away. So the kids are having to walk further. So I fear for her every morning. The fact that he was able to get on that school bus, was just frightening to me within itself.”

Police said it happened Wednesday morning as the girl was trying to get to school in Raleigh.

The suspect got off the bus when the girl called police, according to WRAL.

He was being held at the Wake County Detention Center on a secure $500,000 bond on charges of trespassing and misdemeanor stalking.
