Thomasville police seek help in finding hit and run suspect

THOMASVILLE, N.C. — Thomasville police is seeking the help of the community in identifying a person responsible for leaving the scene of an accident.

Officers responded to the accident around 2:22 p.m. Tuesday in the area of Business 85 north and N.C. 109.

A witness at the scene said a silver sport utility vehicle, possibly a CR-V had struck a moped from behind. The driver of vehicle pulled to the shoulder of the roadway after impact, but then left the scene traveling north on U.S.29/70.

The victim on the moped, Dustin C. Ashe, 28, of Thomasville, was transported to Novant Health Thomasville Medical Center for injuries sustained in the collision.

Ashe is listed in stable condition.
