FRESNO, Calif. — An intruder to a chicken farm killed 1,000 of the birds with a golf club, KSWB reported.

The incident occurred at Foster Farms chicken shed in Fresno County a couple weeks ago.

Sheriff’s deputies investigated the chicken deaths after an intruder broke through a fence gained access to the facility in Caruthers, Calif., on Sept. 20.

Deputies said 920 chickens were killed with a golf club “and possibly another similar type instrument” after a piece of golf club was found at the scene, Los Angeles Times reported.

Foster Farms is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to an arrest and prosecution of the killer.
