NC teenager killed in shooting outside of party

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Authorities said a 16-year-old boy is dead after a shooting Saturday night in Fayetteville.

WTVD-TV reported that it happened around 10:30 p.m. on Randleman Street near the Derrydowne Court intersection.

The victim has been identified as Joseph Braxton III, a student at Seventy-First High School in Fayetteville.

Fayetteville police said the victim had been a guest at a nearby party when he became involved in a disturbance with an unknown suspect outside of the home.

Investigators say multiple shots were fired. The victim died as a result of the gunfire, according to police.

Detectives said three suspects were seen fleeing the area in a dark colored SUV.
