Man robbed, pistol-whipped while helping stranded motorist on I-85

CHARLOTTE, N.C.– Police are looking for a suspect after a man said he was pistol-whipped and robbed while trying to help a stranded motorists Wednesday night.

Police say the man pulled over on I-85, just past Mallard Creek Church Road near Charlotte to help what he thought was a stranded female motorist.

The 30-year-old woman in a black pickup was pulled off of the highway with her flashers on when the man pulled over to help her.

The victim said a man came out of the tree line with a gun, pistol-whipped and robbed him. The suspect and woman then left together.

The victim was treated at the scene.

The attacker was described by police as approximately 20 years old, 5 feet 8 inches tall, weighing 180 pounds with short dreadlocks. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and black pants.

The female was described by police as approximately 30 years old, 5 feet 4 inches tall, weighing 110 pounds with blonde hair. She was wearing a grey T-shirt.
