GRAND PRAIRIE, Texas — A group of mean girls at Grand Prairie High School recently pulled a prank on their 17-year-old classmate.

They told Lillian Skinner that she had been nominated for homecoming court.

What the mean girls didn’t know was that two of Lillian’s friends, Anahi Alvarez and Naomi Martinez, promised each other that if either of them were named homecoming queen, they’d give Skinner the crown.

Alvarez’s name was called at the halftime of the Sept. 12 football game. She asked Skinner to join her and then placed the crown atop her curly red hair. A video of the event taken by the school’s assistant principal has exploded on social media.
