Winston-Salem man shot multiple times

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — A Winston-Salem man was sent to the hospital in grave condition after police officers found him suffering from multiple gunshot wounds in a car on Charles Street early Sunday morning, according to the Winston-Salem Journal.

Crouch was slumped over the driver’s seat of a 2014 Toyota Camry and was suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

He was transported to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. Police said his condition was grave.

Authorities have charged Cary Dewayne Crowder, 22, of 1935 Althea St., Winston-Salem, with assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury with intent to kill and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Police say Crowder arrived at a hospital in Greensboro just after 6 a.m. seeking treatment for a gunshot wound. Greensboro and Winston-Salem police determined that Crowder’s injuries were related to the incident on Charles Street.

Crowder was in stable condition as of Sunday afternoon.

Authorities said the investigation is in its early stages and that no further details will be released at this time. Detectives interviewed several witnesses.
