HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. — A Huntersville woman is in the hospital after being impaled by a pole, according to WTVD-TV.
Firefighters say a gust of wind blew open a gate at Hopewell High School and the woman’s car hit it as she was leaving a football game.
A pole in the gate rammed straight through the passenger side headlight, the engine compartment firewall, and then into the driver’s seat.
The woman’s injuries were described as serious.
