Elementary school teacher accidentally shoots self in leg

TAYLORSVILLE, Utah — A teacher suffered an accidental gunshot wound before school at Westbrook Elementary School Thursday morning, according to KSL.

Before school started, a teacher with a concealed weapons permit was in the faculty room of the school when the weapon went off and shot her in either the leg or foot, said Granite School District spokesman Ben Horsley.

No students were present when the shot was fired.

The woman was transported to a local hospital in serious condition.
