Man arrested after firing multiple gunshots inside two Winston-Salem houses

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — A Winston-Salem man was arrested after police say he fired off multiple gunshots at two different homes in the area Tuesday evening.

Officers first responded to 712 Barbara Jane Avenue around 6:56 p.m. to a report of someone shooting a gun inside a house.

While on the scene at 712 Barbara Jane Avenue, a second report of gunshots was received at 122 North Cameron Avenue.

Officers say Richard Lee Davis, 64, initially discharged a firearm into the house on Barbara Jane Avenue and then drove to North Cameron Avenue, forced his way inside and fired multiple shots at Arthur Davis, 27.

The rounds did not strike Arthur Davis and no one was harmed.

Richard Davis was taken into custody and taken to the Forsyth County Law Enforcement Detention Center.

Davis was charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, two counts of discharging a firearm in the city limits, two counts of discharging firearm in occupied dwelling and felony breaking and entering.

He was placed under an $80,000 secured bond.
