GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Animal control is testing a fox captured Tuesday near Pickering Road and Landsberg Court. The animal is suspected of being rabid after neighbors say it bit one man and tried to bite another.

"It stopped what it was doing and it meant to bite," said Johnathan Lancaster, who says the fox tried to bite his leg Monday while sitting on his porch with his daughters. "Looked at us and jumped up on the porch, I was in between the girls, and it bit my pants leg."

Tuesday afternoon Lancaster's wife Shay spotted the fox and called animal control. An officer captured the animal that appeared to be ill and is currently being tested.

An animal control spokeswoman told FOX8 Tuesday evening they are awaiting those test results.
