PASCAGOULA, Miss. — Disturbing images of an injured kindergartner have been posted online after friends and family say the child was attacked on the playground by another student last week, according to WLOX.

Friends and family of the girl created a Facebook page and GoFundMe page and claimed the little girl was kicked repeatedly in the face by another student until she fell off a slide at the playground of Arlington Elementary School.

That page also points to improper supervision as one of the reasons for the incident.

Lacey Harris, the mother of the girl identified as AvaLynn, posted images of the girl after she was injured on Facebook.

Pascagoula School District officials released a statement Friday, “A student was injured while playing on the playground at Arlington Elementary School Tuesday afternoon. School officials responded to the situation. The parent was contacted and the student received medical treatment.”

The statement went on to say, “No other children were involved in the incident. The Pascagoula School District remains committed to the safety of all its students.”

Pascagoula Police have confirmed to WLOX that a report was filed about the incident on Tuesday.
