Water main break floods building on UNC’s campus

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — A building at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill was flooded and faculty at the school is trying to get someone on campus to make repairs.

An electrician told WTVD-TV it could Monday or Tuesday before someone comes in. A water line break was reported Sunday night.

“I was really caught off guard to see all of that water,” said Carolina student Madison Corbett. “It’s like a little mini flood.”

Water was flowing down stairs, covering the sidewalk, and bubbling by a sewer drain near Greenlaw Hall. The faculty member says the line that keeps the building cool and enables the air-conditioning to run broke.
