CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A North Carolina high school senior may not graduate on time because her parents cannot get her transcript records from her former private school, her parents said.

Michael Scott and Kimmberly Scott showed WSOC-TV the report cards from their daughter’s former school, Oasis Performing Arts, a private school in Charlotte.

Their daughter Tyeshia Scott transferred in November from Oasis to North Mecklenburg High School, where she is a senior.

In order for their daughter to graduate, she has to fulfill Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools’ graduation requirements and the district relies on proof of a transcript.

“I don’t want her to be ready to graduate and all of a sudden she doesn’t have the classes, credits she needs to graduate,” Michael Scott said.

And that could happen.

The Scotts said they’ve been waiting since last year for Oasis to send the transcript to North Mecklenburg.

“I keep reaching out, trying to see what is going on, why she hasn’t sent her transcript but still, I get no response,” Kimmberly Scott said.
