WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — Police said a man was shot in the leg and injured early Sunday morning in Winston-Salem.

The victim said he was walking in the 1100 block of E. 15th Street shortly before 5 a.m. when he was approached by two suspects who asked him for change.

He was reportedly shot in the leg when he refused to give them change.

The victim was taken to Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center with a non-life threatening injury, according to police.
