Officials, family search for man who never returned from NC fishing trip

ALEXANDER COUNTY, N.C. — Emergency agencies are searching for a man who officials said never returned from a North Carolina fishing trip, according to WSOC-TV.

Chong Va Lee was reported missing by his family after failing to return from a fishing trip near Oxford Dam on the Catawba River, according to Alexander County officials.

Family members started searching for him around 10:30 p.m. Saturday and continued until around 3:30 a.m. Sunday.

Authorities said Lee’s truck and canoe were found just east of the Oxford Dam.

Lee is a 55-year-old Asian man with black hair and brown eyes. He weighs 150 pounds.
