WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — A Winston-Salem meat cutter plans to use his lottery winnings to take a trip to Las Vegas.

Austin Bradshaw, who works at a local Harris Teeter, won $269,010 playing Carolina Cash 5. Along with his travel plans, Bradshaw plans to make some investments for the future.

Bradshaw’s Quick Pick ticket matched all five numbers in the Aug. 19 drawing to win the jackpot. He checked the numbers on his computer the next morning – and found out he won big.

“I got so excited,” Bradshaw said. “I checked the numbers a few times then I just started screaming and hollering. It’s a blessing and it proves that it can happen to anybody.”

After state and federal taxes were withheld, Bradshaw received a check for $186,156. He purchased the lucky ticket at 4 Brothers on Lewisville-Clemmons Road in Clemmons.
