Autopsy reveals NC minister, wife did not die of natural causes

LUMBERTON, N.C. — Autopsies for a minister and his wife found dead in their Lumberton home this week revealed that they did not die of natural causes, WTVD reported.

Reverend William Scott, 68, and his wife Charlotte Scott, 64, were found on the patio of their Old Whiteville Road home on Wednesday.

The discovery was made by the couple’s granddaughter around 2:30 p.m.

The medical examiner’s officer confirmed that the couple did not die of natural causes. More information is expected to be released later on Friday.

The Scotts were members of East Lumberton Baptist Church, where William (Bill ) Scott was a treasurer. He was also a pastor of Charity Baptist Church near the Gray’s Creek area of Cumberland County.
