Greensboro man arrested in Memorial Day weekend shooting at Myrtle Beach

GREENSBORO, N.C. — A Greensboro man has been arrested in connection with a Memorial Day weekend shooting in Myrtle Beach, according to WMBF.

Tristan Datre Payne, 24, was arrested by members of the U.S. Marshals Joint Fugitive Task Force on Tuesday in North Carolina.

On May 24, Myrtle Beach officers were called to the Fountainbleau Inn motel on Flagg Street and 7th Avenue North around 4:15 a.m., where one victim had been shot in the leg.

Officers began looking at surveillance video in an effort to locate and arrest Payne. Payne was later positively identified as a passenger in a Nissan Altima.

He was arrested and charged with possession of firearm by felon, possession of stolen firearm, and fugitive from justice for the Myrtle Beach Police Department accessory after the fact of attempted murder charge.

Payne was also served with an outstanding Guilford County Order for Arrest for failing to appear on a misdemeanor possession of marijuana charge. He was given a $266,000 bond.
