Alert issued for NC couple wanted on child abuse charges

PIKEVILLE, N.C. — Deputies with the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office are trying to track down a couple accused of child abuse.

A statewide alert has been issued for the pair.

Christian Amanda Tomeski, 21, and her live-in boyfriend, Thomas Strickland, 27, are accused of physically abusing Tomeski’s 2-year-old son, according to WTVD.

Investigators say a pediatric clinic tipped them off after noticing¬† bruises on the child’s head, ears and neck.

The child is now with his grandfather.

Authorities are still searching for the couple.

Anyone with¬†information related to the whereabouts of either Tomeski or Strickland is urged to contact the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office at 910-323-1500.
