Two charged after police pursuit ends with wreck in Asheboro

ASHEBORO, N.C. — Two men were arrested after Randolph County Sheriff’s deputies say the men broke into a business Sunday evening and were seen fleeing the area.

Deputies responding to a break-in at James River Equipment at 2421 U.S. 64 East observed the suspect vehicle leaving the scene and attempted to conduct a traffic stop.

When the vehicle would not stop, a chase ensued.

After a short pursuit, the suspect vehicle wrecked and both suspects were airlifted to area hospitals.

Michael Ross, 25, of Seagrove, and Robert Anthony Chisholm, 51, of Staley, have both been charged with possession of burglary tools, breaking and entering, larceny and possession of stolen goods.

Chisholm was treated and released from the hospital.
