SC woman accused of assaulting husband for overcooking steak

ROCK HILL, S.C. — A Rock Hill woman was arrested after police say she attacked her husband because she didn’t like how he prepared her steak Tuesday evening.

Police responded to the couple’s apartment after a report of a woman banging on a door, screaming for help.

The woman said her husband had a gun, but police later discovered that he was never armed.

The Herald Online is reporting that the incident began when the woman, Norma Allen, 49, became upset that her husband overcooked her steak.

They argued and then the husband says Allen began hitting him and choking him. The husband says he pushed Allen on the floor and held her down to get her to stop attacking him.

Allen was able to get away and ran outside.

Police say the husband had scratches on his neck and chest.

Allen told police a different story, She says her husband assaulted her after she mentioned her steak was overcooked. Allen did not have any visible injuries, police say.

Allen was issued a citation for criminal domestic violence.
