WILMINGTON, N.C. – Police said a Wilmington mother punched a burglar in the face and slammed a window on his hands after he broke into her home.

WWAY-TV reported that it happened at a Wilmington home after a burglar allegedly broke in through a child’s window.

The mother told police she heard a window open in her 4-year-old’s room, prompting her to take action.

Police are still searching for the suspect.
