GASTONIA, N.C. — A murder trial in Gastonia was delayed Thursday morning after a juror was caught napping during testimony.

Juror number three admitted to dozing off during the Steve Neely trial. Neely is accused of the 2013 stabbing death of his ex-wife’s new husband.

The judge immediately dismissed the juror who fell asleep. Another juror had child care issues and could not make it to court Thursday.

There is only one alternate juror, so the judge delayed the trial until Friday.
