Conan O’Brien was taping his Monday episode of CONAN on TBS when he learned that Robin Williams had been found dead in his California home.

“I’m sorry to anyone in our studio audience that I’m breaking this news,” O’Brien said. “This is absolutely shocking and horrifying.”

Will Arnett, who has worked with Williams, spoke about the actor.

“As funny as he was… he was even better as a person,” Arnett said. “He was even more fantastic. He was one of the loveliest, sweetest guys I have ever worked with… it’s a major, major loss for everybody.”

Co-host Andy Richter, who also worked with Williams, was obviously shaken by the news.

“He was an amazingly kind and generous person,” co-host Andy Richter said. “It has to be a terrible time for his family. Our thoughts go out to him.”

After hearing of the death, a visibly shaken O’Brien ended the show by saying “God bless Robin Williams.”
