BAY CITY, MI — A Michigan city is losing 5 million gallons of water every 12 hours – and the city can’t find the source of the leak.

Bay City crews are continuing to search for the broken water main causing the massive leak.

Dave Harran, the city’s public works director, told he called the water emergency urgent and is asking residents and businesses to only use water for purposes of public health and safety.

City officials are also asking residents to limit the amount of water they use until the water main is repaired. If the leak is not found by Monday, the water reserves could be empty.
