Keith Belajonas

NEW YORK — A manhunt for a suspect accused of killing a woman in Philadelphia then kidnapping her children ended Thursday in Staten Island, where the boys were discovered safe and the suspect was found dead.

WPIX reported that the body of Keith Belajonas, 32, was found in a car in Staten Island about 8 a.m. Police have not confirmed if his apparent gunshot wound was self-inflicted.

Belajonas has been at the center of an Amber Alert that was first issued after he snatched two boys Thursday from a home in Pennsylvania.

Police believe Belajonas killed the boys’ mother then kidnapped the children.

The children were found safe around 6 a.m. at a CVS in Staten Island.
