Bertha became the second hurricane of the 2014 season Monday as it continues to move away from the Bahamas and the U.S. East Coast, according to the National Weather Service.

The U.S. National Hurricane Center in Miami said the storm is likely to miss Bermuda while beginning to curve north-northeastward and stay out in the Atlantic.

The storm is expected to weaken by Tuesday.
