Greensboro man shot in stomach identified

GREENSBORO, N.C. — A man is in the hospital after being shot in the stomach early Tuesday morning in Greensboro.

Police were called to West Barton Street around 4:30 a.m. to find the victim shot, but conscious and alert.

Rufus  Nathaniel Pegues Jr., 45, of Barton Street, is still hospitalized with injuries that are considered to be non-life threatening.

Police are still searching for a suspect.
