Man hit in head with beer bottle during armed robbery in Greensboro

GREENSBORO, N.C. — A man was robbed and hit in the head with a beer bottle during an armed robbery Sunday night in Greensboro, police say.

The 55-year-old victim told police he was on Summit Avenue around 10:14 p.m. when three men approached him on foot and demanded money.

When the victim told the men he couldn’t help, he says one man known as “New York” struck him with a beer bottle. The suspects took personal items and change from the victim before fleeing on foot.

“New York” was described as a 35-year old black-male, 6’6, slender-build, wearing a New York ball cap and dark colored clothing.

The investigation is ongoing.
