FORSYTH COUNTY, N.C. – Forsyth County Commissioners will vote Monday to add an additional display at the Carolina Field of Honor.

Robert O'Hanlon with the War Memorial Foundation said that the addition to the honor will be revealed on September 11th of this year if allowed by commissioners.

"D.H. Griffin was one of the contracted companies to remove debris from New York, from the trade center area," O'Hanlon said. "So they were fortunate enough to have components of the world trade building and we are very fortunate to be in receipt of that coming up shortly."

The addition includes a 3,600 pound beam from the second twin tower in the World Trade Center.

O'Hanlon said the foundation is relying on the help of private donors to fund the $20,000 project and hoped the proposed addition will be an education piece for generations to come.
