WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — The latest movie based on a Nicholas Sparks novel is planned to be filmed on the campus of Wake Forest University.

The Old Gold & Black reported that a film crew for “The Longest Ride” plans to shoot in and around the Winston-Salem campus on August 4.

The campus is expected to undergo some changes during production, including partial closings of certain parking lots and possibly a traffic detour on some campus roads.

It has been reported that much of the filming will take place near or on Hearn Plaza. Details are still being finalized.

Production is expected to last about 12 hours. The crew will also reportedly shoot scenes in Wilmington.

The Longest Ride is set to debut on April 3, 2015. It is directed by George Tillman Jr. and stars Britt Robertson, Scott Eastwood and Jack Huston.

The plot of the romantic drama involves the life of an elderly widower who becomes entwined with that of a young college student and the cowboy she loves.

Sparks is a popular novelist whose books have inspired movies including “The Notebook,” “A Walk to Remember” and “The Last Song.”
