DAVIDSON COUNTY, N.C. — Officials are urging travelers to use caution at rest stops after a man was arrested for secret peeping at a rest area on Interstate 85 earlier this week.

Deputies told the Lexington Dispatch that Charles Randy Elmore, 61, peeped at a man in the men’s restroom at the southbound I-85 rest area between Lexington and Thomasville. It was reported around 1:28 a.m. Monday.

Elmore, of Alexis, was charged with misdemeanor secret peeping. He was released from custody under a $2,500 secured bond. His court date is Aug. 15.

A court document stated Elmore is on 50 different medications.

Officials urge travelers to be aware of their surroundings when stopping at rest areas, to park close to the building and try to avoid stopping at night.

  • Duh

It states “he is on 50 different meds” that shows he is not mentally sane so why send him to jail…. shouldnt he be sent to a psycho ward instead……..

  • NobodyAtAll

And if he is on 50 different meds, I too am inclined to believe that perhaps he should never be left alone.
