Woman injured after being shot by person in passing vehicle

GREENSBORO, N.C. — A woman was injured when she was shot by a person in a passing vehicle late Thursday in Greensboro, police said in a news release.

Officers responded to Moses Cone Hospital at 10:29 p.m., where the woman was receiving treatment for her injuries.

The woman said she was the passenger in a vehicle in the area of John Dimrey Drive and Rugby Street when another vehicle approached.

An unknown person inside fired several rounds, striking the vehicle and the female passenger.

There is no suspect description available at this time and the investigation is ongoing.
