GUILFORD COUNTY, N.C. -- Investigators are looking into how an argument about money may have led to the murder of Joyce Price Eaton, a mother of four from Jamestown.

Her boyfriend, Anthony Campbell, was arrested and charged with the crime within a week.

Search warrants obtained by FOX8 reveal more information about why investigators quickly zeroed in on him.

Even though he was married to another woman living in Mocksville, DMV records show Campbell also had an address right across from where Eaton’s body was found in McLeansville. Her body was discovered by a landscaper on AT&T Drive on the morning of June 12.

Guilford County Sheriff BJ Barnes said Eaton and Campbell had a business relationship before becoming romantically involved.

Documents obtained Monday were focused on finances in an effort to prove Campbell may have killed Eaton over money. Investigators say they found a $1,800 bank deposit slip at Campbell’s home, which was Eaton’s rent amount. Detectives say they are still trying to determine if that was a factor in her murder.

Detectives say there is also an ongoing financial investigation into how Campbell earned a living. They are still working to determine whether his occupation is related to the homicide case.
