GOLDSBORO, N.C. — Demolition experts imploded the Duke Energy Progress H.F. Lee Steam Plant Friday in Goldsboro.

WSOC-TV reported that the coal-fired power plant was torn down as part of the company’s project to demolish several of its older plants across the state.

The company will restore the site. That involves filling, grading and seeding the land.

Duke Energy plans to complete the restoration process by the middle of 2015.
